I have visited Moalboal 3 times already, not knowing that there are so many places to enjoy other than the white sand beach. I was made aware of it when my cousin invited me to go island hopping with them. I googled the place as I was curious what it would look like and it indeed piqued my interest as the pictures were astonishing.
Since it was my cousin's birthday, our food and transportation was free and the frugal me was pleased - Haha! Our travel time took about 3 hours. We arrived at the resort (HK Resort) at 8 AM. There was no entrance fee as long as you rent their cottage. If you have a tent and don't want to rent a cottage, I would suggest going to White Beach instead. There will be a P10 entrance fee.
After preparing the decorations for the birthday girl, we filled our stomachs with the all time favourite, LECHON. Yumyum! Then, we head to the beach to enjoy the salty water. We wanted to go island hopping while it's still early, so we looked for the cheapest boat we could rent. Unfortunately, the regular price for the boats costs P2,500 but that includes life jackets and goggles. We haggled for a cheaper price but we are left with no choice, so we rented the boat.
After we agreed with the boatman, he drove us to the Tourism Department to have our orientation and pay P100 environmental fee. Then the tour began.
Our first destination was Pescador Island. Here, you can see different kinds of aquatic species. We even swam with Nemo and Dory.
Second is the Sardines run. There are so many sardines that you can't even count.
Lastly, Sea Turtle watching. The boatman said that there are many turtles there during early morning. When we went there it was noon, we only saw one sea turtle and sadly, he is sleeping :( It was so hard to find the turtle because he camouflaged with the rocks and corals.
We went back to the resort tired, imagine all the paddling and the swimming but it is all worth it.
