Carnaza Island: A Paradise in Daanbantayan, Cebu

To be honest, when I first heard about Carnaza Island all I can think of is the place is very instagrammable – the coconut trees, the white tents at the background and the white sand beach – but Carnaza Island is not just about being instagrammable, there is something more.

Carnaza Island is situated at Daanbantayan, Cebu. It takes a long journey before you arrive and enjoy the paradise.

How to get there?

From North Bus Terminal take a bus bound to Daanbantayan, travel time is about 3-4 hours. Drop off at Daanbantayan Terminal then ride a tricycle going to Tapilon Port. Upon arriving at the port, ask the locals which boat to ride going to Carnaza Island. As far as I know, boats are only available in the morning. Boat ride will take 2 and a half hour.

Carnaza Island is not just a beautiful place. The locals are friendly and accommodating. If not because of them, we might end up hungry over the night.

The place will make you feel relaxed. You can enjoy the island by swimming at the beach, taking a lot of photos, stargazing, and a lot more. I would advise that when you come to the island, be with a group of friends or family. The more the merrier, you know!

A few reminders!
1.     Bring your own food and drinks – it’s hard to find any restaurants there and if there is, it’s expensive, like the one we had. There’s no convenience store.
2.     No electricity – Bring your powerbanks.
3.     No network signal
4.     Leave no trace

I have enjoyed Carnaza Island, now your turn!
